Car guard arrested and Stolen laptop recovered in Verulam CBD

A 31-year-old man was arrested and a stolen laptop was recovered on Wick Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN.

A member of the public arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters requesting assistance after he discovered his vehicle had broken into.

According to the complainant, he parked his blue VW Golf outside the Sizakala Centre on Wick Street. Upon his return, he discovered his rear door handle broken. His backpack containing his HP laptop was missing.

Reaction Officers proceeded to the location and interviewed several individuals. An informer who witnessed the incident advised RUSA Members that a car guard was responsible for the theft. Officers were informed that the suspect was dressed in a green reflective vest and a black Adidas jacket.

Reaction Officers went in search of the thief and spotted him attempting to sell the electronic device to a vendor in the Verulam CBD. Officers immediately arrested him and recovered the stolen laptop in his possession.
