IPSS Medical Rescue and IPSS Search and Rescue responded to a complex in Shakas Rock after the collapse of a third-story balcony rail.
On arrival, it was found that three people had been on the balcony at the time of the collapse and were all in critical condition.
IPSS Medical advanced life support and medics worked to stabilize the patients. Unfortunately, the condition of two of the patients deteriorated. Despite the best efforts of all on the scene, both were declared deceased.
The third patient was transported to a nearby facility under the care of IPSS Medical Advanced life support.
SAPS will investigate the incident further.
