Shortly after 07:26 am Tuesday 10 April 2018, Netcare 911 responded to an accident on the R563 in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
On arrival, Netcare 911 and other emergency services found 16 people injured in a taxi vs truck crash.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found 13 had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. 3 had sustained critical injuries and were provided with advanced life support interventions before 2 were airlifted by Netcare 911 and another emergency service for urgent care. 1 of the critically injured sadly sustained fatal injuries and declared dead at the scene.
Paramedics treated the rest of the patients and were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
At this stage, the exact details leading up to the accident were unknown however local authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
