Pedestrian–vehicle accident involving a critically injured patient on the R21

Multiple emergency medical services attended the scene of a pedestrian–vehicle accident involving a critically injured patient.

Upon arrival, an ALS practitioner from Emer-G-Med EMS was already providing advanced medical care.

Shortly thereafter, an ambulance from Emergency Medical Solutions arrived on scene to assist.

A team of five practitioners, including three ALS providers, worked together to assess, treat, and stabilise the patient. The patient sustained multiple serious injuries, including a fractured femur, a fractured arm, and a significant head injury.

Following successful stabilisation, the patient was carefully loaded into the ambulance and transported to hospital for further definitive care.

The receiving facility was notified in advance to ensure preparations were in place for the arrival of the critically injured patient.
