A group of about 10 armed suspects attacked four security guards driving in a cash van near Bushbuckridge.
According to information, a white Mercedes Benz sedan driven by the suspects collided head-on with the van. One of the security guards sustained injuries.
The suspects overpowered and disarmed the guards, taking their firearms and detonated explosives to get access to the money bags in the back of the van. The suspects fled with the money bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police urge anyone with information that may assist in apprehending the perpetrators to contact D/ Lt Col Mashego at 082 469 1298 or call Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Alternatively members of the public can send information via MySAPS app. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous….
