14 Injured, 1 killed in early morning crash on the corner of Warwick Avenue and Old Dutch Road in the City Centre

One person has been killed and fourteen others injured after two taxis and a vehicle collided on the corner of Warwick Avenue and Old Dutch Road in the City Centre just after 5am this morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two taxis and a vehicle had collided in the junction. One male believed to be in his forties had sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing Paramedics could do to assist and he was declared deceased on the scene. A further fourteen people had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene by multiple Rescue Care ambulances and Advanced Life Support Units before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
