At approximately 08H15 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R103 Lions River area.
Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi with 14 school children and a bakkie carrying 15 occupants collided resulting in both vehicles overturning.
The driver of the mini-bus taxi had absconded from the scene prior to the arrival of Paramedics.
All the patients were treated at the scene and transported via ambulances to a hospital for further assessment and care.
The Lions River SAPS was at the scene and will be investigating.
