A man believed to be in his twenties had been killed after a Taxi somehow lost control and collided into him before veering off the road near Dassenhoek Train Station on Saturday.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene just after 12:30 to find the taxi off the road with the pedestrian lying next to the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained major injuries, there was nothing Paramedics could do for man and he was declared deceased on the scene. The taxi driver had sustained minor injuries.
At this stage the events leading up to the crash are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
