A motor vehicle accident was reported on the R102 northbound in Phoenix – KZN at approximately 20:36 yesterday (Monday, 20/07/2026).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the scene and found that a white Toyota and a silver Hyundai i20 had been involved in a collision. The Toyota had crashed through the roadside guardrail, collided with a tree and came to rest in the bush below the roadway.
According to information received at the scene, the driver of the Toyota collided with the Hyundai i20 before losing control of the vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters extricated the injured individual before Paramedics transported the patient to hospital for further medical treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
