A pedestrian has sadly lost their life following a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision on the M25 Kwa Mashu Highway, Durban on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency medical personnel from KZN VIP responded to reports of the incident. Upon arrival, medics found that a pedestrian had allegedly attempted to cross the busy roadway when they were struck by a light motor vehicle. The pedestrian was found entrapped beneath the vehicle.
KZN VIP paramedics immediately assessed the patient; however, due to the severity of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased at the scene.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS), together with other emergency service providers, attended the scene and assisted with the incident.
Traffic along the roadway was significantly affected while emergency personnel and law enforcement officials conducted their on-scene investigations and cleared the area.
