Two people have died and a third has been critically injured in a single-vehicle rollover that burst into flames on the R71 just outside Haenertsburg in the direction of Polokwani this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 4 pm. The local neighbourhood watch had managed to secure the scene before their arrival. Our ALS paramedic had to quickly extract an adult female, believed to be in her 50s, from the burning Mustang convertible which had rolled down an embankment.
She had unfortunately already succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on arrival. An adult male, also believed to be in his 50s, was found ejected from the vehicle. He had also unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on arrival. A second woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found in a critical condition and required Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise her before transporting her to Mankweng Clinic for further care.
