In this video by Blue Security, we see disaster management and fire fighter teams responded to a massive fire at a refinery in the South of Durban on the morning of 4 December 2020. The cause of the fire is unknown and productivity was suspended until the safety of the workers and the community was established.
The refinery Loss control team, together with disaster management teams and Ethekwini fire must be commended for tackling and bringing under control this devastating blaze.
No reports of fatalities was received and Sheldon Lombaard from Rescue Care that responded confirmed this.
