In this video by ‘Eyewitness News’ we see that after allegations that a taxi driver was shot and killed by an alleged foreign national, taxi drivers and other community members took to the streets in protest. Chaos, violence, looting and destruction ensued.
The South African Police Service and the Tshwane Metro Police Department have since intensified deployments and will maintain a presence in the CBD to ensure that no further incidents of criminality recur.
