The South Bound lane of the R102 between Palmview and Phoenix Highway – KZN is currently closed due to a truck on fire.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after passing motorists noticed smoke billowing out of the vehicle.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival found the Verulam SAPS in attendance and the truck engulfed in flames.
The driver informed Reaction Officers that the vehicle was experiencing an electrical fault.
He was proceeding to a workshop to repair the vehicle, but it burst into flames while he was on route.
The fire posed danger to other motorists which resulted in the road closure.
No injuries were reported.
