In this video by ‘Suidlanders’ we see Simon Roche give their position and opinions on secession, of which there are six such initiatives at present in South Africa and as yet none of them have been successful. Suidlanders is a civil defence organisation constituted under international law to safeguard civilians and hence do not get directly involved in politics, however in principle we support all initiatives that are to the benefit our people. But our mandate as a civil defense organization determines our stance on this issue.
Simon looks at Ramaphosa’s position on expropriation without compensation, which make no sense on any level and while he encourages people to participate in the secession initiatives he does advise that people educate themselves on these matters.
