In this video by ‘Palaestra Media’, Jonas Nilsson looks at a South African family that is seeking asylum in Sweden after threats from black gangs in South Africa to kidnap their daughter for muti medicine, saying that the South African government can not ensure their safety. Jonas interviews the family and hears first hand their story and the horrific reasons that they fled. The family was approached by blacks wanting to rape their young daughter for ‘muti’ (medicine) purposes being under the impression that this would cure AIDS. The child was snatched from her grandmother’s arms and luckily rescued. The police refused to open a case.

The matter will be heard in court and the application is pending. The grounds that they are seeking asylum for is for protection reasons as a result of the situation in South Africa. The Swedish government does support the ANC government and it is feared that the application may have a political influence.
