In this video by ‘CNBCAfrica’ we see author and political economist, Moeletsi Mbeki discusses why the President Ramaphosa went to bend the knee to Zulu king and to confirm that the Zulu land will not be expropriated. How decisive will South Africa’s land debate be for political parties and who stands to win the most ahead to the 2019 general elections? “The ANC was under the impression that it had more power than it has and realised they can’t lose the Zulu vote”. Mbeki added, “The expropriation targeted at whites and white farmers is not going to assist in the ANC getting votes, the voters know that blaming whites for the blacks present ‘lack of having’ is false ANC information.”

Political leaders are drumming up hysteria over the land issue to gain votes and for them that is all that matters and the EFF is using the land debate to its fullest whist the ANC is compelled to do the same considering that they have lost a lot of support, the DA of course is struggling to compete. But will it make a difference?
