Is Malema above the law? In this video by News 24 the footage shows EFF leader Julius Malema firing an assault rifle during an EFF after party rally at the weekend of 29 July 2018. The political party celebrated its 5th anniversary at the Sisa Dukashe stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape on Saturday. The video shows the EFF leadership on stage, in the evening, singing. During the song Malema goes to the side of the stage and fires off several rounds from the gun. He then hands it over to a man, who quickly ducks out of the camera’s shot, before giving a high five to EFF chairperson Advocate Dali Mpofu.

Malema and other EFF party leadership could not be immediately reached for comment on Tuesday night. According to the Firearms Control Act, it is offence to discharge a firearm, an antique firearm or an airgun in a built up area or any public place, without good reason to do so. Malema seems to just have free reign when it come to the law. He incites violence, calls for the killing of whites, makes outrageous racist statements and is allowed to carry on with any repercussions.
