In this video by ‘Loving Life’ we see a very interesting video about the role of private security in South Africa, this huge industry has more armed employees than the South African Defence Force and police combined. The government claims that it is an industry that threatens national security. The police are ineffectual in the fight against crime and most citizens do not rely on them.
There is an increase in violent and contact crime in the country and the public are forced to rely on private security companies for assistance.
