In this video by ‘Loving Life’ we see that pet dogs are seen as a major stumbling block for would be thieves and criminals in South Africa, so they poison them to take them out of the picture. The ‘Griffon poison information center’ released the startling statistics that show that at least 1000 dogs a week are poisoned in the country. Forty were poisoned in one night in Florida, Roodepoort, Gauteng province alone.
Around 97% of animals poisoned die. The video covers details of the poisons used and their effect. The poisons have also been used in farm attacks in South Africa.
