Earlier this morning, IPSS Medical Rescue paramedics responded to reports of a road accident, on the R102 near Etete.
Upon the arrival of paramedics, it was ascertained that a young boy had jumped onto a moving cane truck to remove sugar cane when he slipped and was pulled into and under the trailer wheels. The boy sustained multiple traumatic injuries and paramedics worked to stabilise him. Sadly his injuries were extensive and severe and, despite best efforts, the boy passed away.
The police were in attendance and will investigate further….
