This morning, a 47-year-old woman was critically injured when three dogs attacked her at a residence in Miederpark, Potchefstroom.
ER24 and Mooirivier Beskerming arrived at 08h26 to find a woman lying inside the home by the front door.
Medics assessed the woman and found that she was in a critical condition, having suffered numerous bite wounds over most of her body.
The woman was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before she was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care.
It is understood that the next-door neighbor heard a woman screaming and jumped over the fence to assist. The dogs apparently attempted to attack the man as he jumped over the fence to rescue the critically injured woman. Bystanders on the scene explained that the man shot at the dogs as they tried to attack him.
The local authorities and Potchefstroom Animal Welfare were on the scene for further investigations….
