A white Toyota Etios was wrecked after crashing into a tree on the R102 in Canelands – KZN this morning (Sunday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched at approximately 06:02 after the Operations Centre received multiple calls from the public reporting the crash. Upon arrival, Reaction Officers located the extensively damaged vehicle off the roadway.
The 21-year-old driver informed Officers that he had travelled to King Shaka International Airport to drop off staff members and was returning when the incident occurred. He stated that he was unable to recall the circumstances preceding the collision.
