On Wednesday 23 August 2023 at around 14:25, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Edleen Precinct Officers attended to a scene on the corner of R25 roadway and Kwartel Road in Birch Acres in the Kempton Park area, where a Hyundai H1 light delivery vehicle caught fire.
EMPD Officers received a call from the call centre regarding a vehicle that had caught fire, in Birch Acres. Officers swiftly responded to the location, and on arrival found a Hyundai H1 carrying an Engine, severely burnt. The fire brigade arrived and the remnants of the blaze were extinguished. No injuries were reported, and the EMPD were on the scene to monitor the situation.
Although traffic was not affected, The EMPD urged motorists to approached the scene with caution.
