Two people have been killed, including a three-year-old boy, and three others injured following two collisions on the N4 in Mbombela.
The first collision occurred near Croc Valley Road last night. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find that two light motor vehicles had collided.
On closer inspection, it was found that a male driver from one vehicle and a three-year-old boy from the second vehicle had sustained fatal injuries.
Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.
Two other women were assessed and found to have moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
The second collision occurred on the N4 near Kanyamazane in the early hours of this morning.
On scene, ER24 paramedics found that two trucks had collided.
On closer inspection, medics found that one male driver lay trapped in his truck while the second truck driver had escaped injury.
