Two people were injured following a head-on collision involving a taxi and a bakkie on the Umdloti Link Road near Waterloo.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene at approximately 08:18 after receiving several calls from passing motorists reporting the incident. On arrival, a Toyota Quantum was found off the road down a slight embankment. An extensively damaged Ford Bantam bakkie was blocking the lane leading to the Umdloti area. One person from each vehicle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
According to a witness, the bakkie was travelling towards Umdloti when it collided into the taxi which veered of the road and crashed into a tree.
