A truck pulling a trailer was destroyed by fire on the R102 in Verulam – KZN today (Tuesday, 07/07/2026).
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 18:52 after receiving reports of a truck on fire.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered multiple Emergency Services already on scene. The truck was fully engulfed in flames while the trailer was not affected.
The driver explained that he was travelling from Phoenix to Stanger – KZN to collect a load when he noticed smoke emanating from the front of the truck. He immediately pulled off the roadway to investigate and discovered flames beneath the truck. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the vehicle.
No injuries were reported
