Transport Deputy Minister to announce winners of the Road Accident Fund’s road safety school competition and youth projects

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Lisa Mangcu will on Friday, 10 May 2024 officiate a ceremony that will announce winners of the Road Safety School Competition and Road Safety Youth Projects that was hosted by the Road Accident Fund (RAF).

The Comprehensive Road Safey Programme for Learners and Youth is a road safety awareness initiative that was initiated by the RAF, which is an agency of the National Department of Transport. The initiative is a platform that offers pupils in high school, primary and special schools an opportunity to address road safety challenges faced by the country through road safety essays and art illustrations which includes road safety posters.

A total of 20 schools across the four provinces with a total reach of about 22,000 young people combined were invited to participate in the competition.
