The Mthatha Airport will cautiously resume its service today after taxi strike-related unrest

The Mthatha Airport will cautiously resume its service today after flights, car rental and other supporting services at the airport were suspended yesterday due to the taxi strike-related unrest.

The suspension of service at the airport was hastened after a group of five balaclavas clad gunmen stormed the airport, threatening to burn it and ordering for its immediate closure.

The five men were later stopped in their tracks by the police who shot and injured two of the men after they allegedly opened fire on the police….
