The Commission of Inquiry into taxi violence continues on 18 February 2020

The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will continue on Tuesday, 18 February 2020 at 10:00.

The Commission will hear testimonies from the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport’s Director
for Driver Learner and Testing Center (DLTC), Mr Effort Kgamedi, on Tuesday, 18 February 2020, at 10:00.

Mr Kgamedi will give testimony will include, but not be limited:
– A glance of how systems in the Registrar’s office versus the current ways;
– Registration of routes and taxi associations; and
– Details regarding his role as a former official in the office of the Registrar.

The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear
before the Commission over the next few weeks.
