Ten school children have been injured after a Taxi and a car collided on Second Avenue near Pine Street in Ashley Pinetown this morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene before 7 am to find the two vehicles had collided before the taxi left the roadway down an embankment.

A total of ten children under the age of ten years had sustained various injuries and immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist on scene. Once all the injured had been treated they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage the events leading up to the collision are unknown however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
