Taxi rollover leaves fifteen injured in Heideveld

Fifteen people were left injured this morning, including two children, when the taxi they were traveling in rolled on the N2 towards Cape Town in Heideveld in the Western Cape.

At approximately 07h45, ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find several other services already in attendance. A taxi was found lying on its side in the middle of the offramp.

Several people were found walking around on the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that three were in a serious condition while twelve others had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were treated and the three seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
