Taxi and LDV collide leaving eleven injured in Pietermaritzburg

Eleven people were left injured this morning when a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided at the Alan Paton and Leinster Road intersection in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics, with the Pietermaritzburg Fire Services, arrived on the scene to find both vehicles in the middle of the road. Ten people were seated on the roadside while one man was lying trapped inside the LDV.

ER24 rescue medics and the Fire Services had to utilise various rescue tools to free the trapped man. Once freed, medics assessed the patients and found that all eleven had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for urgent care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
