Suspects arrested after looting a train of a consignment of jet fuel and diesel

Ethekwini infrastructure Task Team members conducted operations within the area known as Marianhill. Whilst there, the team disrupted the looting of a train, which was taking place. One suspect was apprehended, and a consignment of jet fuel and diesel was recovered.

The crime scene was several kilometers long, as well as the train. The members had to hunt a 58 years old African male through dense bush as well. He was charged for:

1. Tampering with essential infrastructure
2. Contravention of section 36 (possession of property reasonably suspected to be stolen).

The suspect was processed at Marianhill South African Police Service station.

Exhibits: 60 litres of jet fuel Value R2000.
