A 29-year-old male was arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover Reaction Unit for intimidation of a JMPD officer in Chaiwelo, Soweto.
On Wednesday, 10 May 2023, the unit received a complaint regarding a JMPD officer who was getting death threats from a suspect she had successfully arrested and detained on the 25th of April 2023 for possession of suspected stolen goods as per the Moraka SAPS case.
It's alleged that after getting bail the suspect went to the officer's residence demanding the goods which were booked with the SAPS.
A case of intimidation was opened at Moroka SAPS and the officers were led to the suspect's residence in Chaiwelo where he was arrested. He was detained at Moroka SAPS, and he will appear in court in due course.
