At around 18:00 Sunday evening REMS Medical received several calls regarding a Motor vehicle accident on the R330 (heading towards St Francis Bay) at Kwanomzamo entrance.
REMS Paramedics were first on the scene and discovered a major accident with several casualties. A quick assessment of the injured revealed two critical infants in the road.
REMS Paramedics started to stabilize the two children as backup and more Ambulance from Metro EMS arrived, even the local Fire department was activated to assist and treat the patients.
The cause of the accident is unknown and will be investigated by local authorities.
A total of six patients were transported by REMS Medical and Metro EMS with injuries ranging from moderate to severe.
