Stop-and-search operations held to quell Langa taxi violence.

Western Cape: Following a shooting incident that left two taxi drivers killed and nine commuters injured, Operation Fiela forces descended on the Libalele taxi rank in Langa for a cordon and search operation. Taxi operators and commuters were searched for unlicensed firearms and dangerous weapons in an effort to restore calm.

The cordon search initiative will continue at other identified areas within the province. Meanwhile, the Provincial Taxi Task Team comprising detectives is hard at work searching for more perpetrators of yesterday's gruesome attack at the taxi rank. In the early hours of this morning, they arrested a 51-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting. More arrests are imminent.
