On Friday, MEC for Transport Xolile Nqatha, together with Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality Executive Mayor Noncedo Zonke, met with all stakeholders at Middelburg High School. On the agenda was the sod turning for the long-awaited Middelburg Traffic Control Centre project.
The project comprised of the following :
1. Weigh Bridge
2. Traffic Station
3. SAPS
4. Court
5. Emergency Services
6. Disaster
7. Fencing etc
Phase 2 of this project will commence in September 2023. The entire project amounts to the tune of R350mil and will contribute to the economic rejuvenation of the local municipal jurisdiction.
Addressing community members, MEC Nqatha urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure that the project becomes a success.
