Security officer rescued after falling down a cliff

Shortly after 04:00 this morning Medi Response paramedics and search & rescue units were called out to the Verulam area for a security officer that fell down a 30-meter cliff.

On arrival, paramedics found a male security officer in extreme pain laying at the bottom of the cliff. Medi response rescue personnel along with Ethekweni fire department set up an integrated rope system to gain access to the patient. Once the patient was stabilized by advanced life support paramedics he was brought up the cliff with the rope system.

The patient was taken to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.
