Scores of people have been injured after two separate collisions on the N3 West Bound near Berea offramp in Durban on Wednesday morning just after 11:30am

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find two vehicles had collided in a rear end collision. One of the drivers was entrapped in wreckage and whilst Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the man a secondary collision occurred in the backlog involving two taxis. Immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist. In the secondary collision two taxis had collided which left twenty six people injured. Multiple ambulances were used to stabilise and transport the injured. The initial collision the Durban Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the injured man free.
