Scholar transport vehicle and bus leaves fifteen injured in Soweto

Fifteen people were left injured this morning, including thirteen children, when a scholar transport vehicle and bus collided on Vundla Street in Soweto.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 07h00 to find the minibus in the middle of the road whilst the bus had come to a stop against a concrete wall. Several children from the minibus were found walking around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one man from the minibus was in a critical condition while a woman had sustained moderate injuries. Thirteen other children had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
