On Friday night, 3 December 2021 a distressed man and woman arrived at SAPS Springs for assistance. The woman experienced severe labour pains and Lieutenant Colonel Mandie Davel immediately called the ambulance.
But due to the severity of the labour pains the woman experienced, Lieutenant Colonel Davel took it upon herself to assist the woman in delivering the baby in the Community Service Centre (CSC) as she has midwifery skills and experience. The officer was assisted by Sergeant Mofokeng. A healthy baby was soon after delivered without any complications.
Mother and baby were immediately transported to a hospital for further medical attention….
