RTMC welcomes the arrest of officers accused of corruption

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) welcomes the arrest of two traffic officers accused of corruption.

The officers, one attached to Tshwane Metro Police Department, and a former National Traffic Police officer.
The former RTMC employee, Mr. Rodney Ramusia (34) was charged for misconduct about three years ago and he resigned before his disciplinary hearing could be concluded. According to Hawks records, Mr. Ramusia was convicted on the criminal charge and sentenced to six (6) years imprisonment, however, due to COVID-19 he was released early.

The two were nabbed by South African Police Services today, on the N1 close to Jean Avenue in Centurion. It’s alleged that the pair were driving a white Polo VW sedan fitted with blue lights stopping unsuspecting motorists in full law enforcement uniform with reflector jackets, and were also in unlawful possession of AARTO documents belonging to the state. An amount totaling R890.00 was found from the two suspects.
