It is alleged that at around 7h45 a speeding bus overtook and crashed into a truck that was carrying workers, the workers were ejected from the truck onto the roads, causing multiple deaths and injuries occurred.
According to eyewitnesses this R555 was a death trap waiting to happen because of absolute lawlessness and disregard for traffic rules, overtaking on solid white lines, driving in the oncoming traffic lane etc.
