The Provincial Police Commissioner in North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena welcomes the arrest of two suspects for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The suspects, aged 32 and 37, were arrested during a Crime Intelligence driven operation by members of Zeerust and Nietverdiend Visible Policing, Zeerust Detectives and Zeerust K9 on Friday, 07 July 2023, at a Farm outside Zeerust. Their arrest follows after a follow up was made on information about two men who were in possession of firearms and suspected to be involved in the commission of burglaries in and around Zeerust.
Upon searching the suspects' place, the police found the following items:
1 x 308 Automatic Rifle
1 x .38 Special Revolver
1 x 306/223 hunting rifle with binocular
2 x 303 hunting rifles with binoculars
4 x wooden rifles butt
1 x Fishing rod, army uniform and different types of rifles empty cartridges.
