Provincial Commissioner leads operation in Waterberg District

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba yesterday on Friday, 26 February 2021 led the joint operation which was largely aimed at eradicating crime in identified areas under Lephalale policing precinct. The operation was comprised of members derived from various units in the Waterberg District, supported by the Provincial and Municipal traffic and Department of Home Affairs.

The operation commenced with a parade that was held at the Lephalale HRD under command of VISPOL Provincial Head, Brigadier Mosima Maila and was conducted through roadblocks, stop and searches.

The Provincial Commissioner, during the operation in which he actively participated, arrested one suspect for driving under the influence of liquor. Some liquor was also confiscated.

Enforcement of the regulations under the Disaster Management Act was also done during the course of the operation.
