Poor visibility from a veld fire blamed for collision on the N1 south 40km from Bloemfontein.

On Wednesday morning shortly after 09:30 emergency services received reports of a collision on the N1 south 40km from Bloemfontein.

VRMED, LifeEMS, and Mangaung Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. On arrival crews found multiple vehicles involved in a collision allegedly caused by poor visibility due to a grass fire.

VRMED treated and transported an elderly couple to LifeRosepark Hospital with injuries ranging from mild to moderate. The other involved parties fortunately sustained no injuries.
