Pedestrian seriously injured after being knocked down by a taxi on Kingsway Ave in Auckland Park

A female pedestrian, believed to be in her 40s, sustained serious injuries after being knocked down by a taxi on Kingsway Ave in Auckland Park this morning.
It is believed that the taxi then collided with three other vehicles whereby two people sustained minor injuries.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just after 06H30, they found the provincial EMS already in attendance and treating a female patient. Upon further assessment, paramedics found that the woman sustained serious injuries. She was transported to hospital by the provincial EMS.
ER24, and another medical service on the scene, transported the other two patients to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for investigations.
