Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the M4 between Umhlanga and La Lucia.
Reports indicate that two light motor vehicles were involved in a collision on the Southbound lane.
Medics assessed the scene and found the driver of one of the cars sustained serious injuries.
The man was treated by Netcare 911 emergency care practitioners and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
