On Saturday night Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a light motor vehicle and a truck on the N3 south before the N17 split.
On arrival on scene a light motor vehicle was found to have rear-ended a heavy-duty vehicle.
The driver and only occupant of the LMV were found to have sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
